The Martin family has been local to Elmhurst since 1996. Firmly rooted in the community, all of the Martin kids (Niall, owner of Nu Crepes and his two brothers Dylan and Connor) have been through the Elmhurst schooling system and have long experienced Duke Pride. Diane, Niall’s Mother, and Niall both have worked extensively with Elmhurst residents through their work with the Elmhurst Public Library and the Elmhurst YMCA.
Nu Crepes also sources the ingredients locally as much as possible. A majority of the meats (bacon, sausage, chorizo, ham) is from a neighbor they met through working at the Downer’s Grove Farmer’s Market for the past three years, as well as their organic, farm fresh eggs.
Holding true to the local and independent business owners, Nu Crepes also stocks Dark Matter coffee. These independent roasters import beans from local farmers in different countries and oversee the product throughout their roasting facility until they bag the product. They have helped to create a specific house blend, unique to Nu Crepes in Elmhurst as well.
